Overview of Our DIVE HELMETS Features
- DESIGN:
Is based onto efficiency, comfort and safety as a result of our experience in shallow water helmet dive practice (commercial & recreational).
It is almost impossible for a diver, wearing our helmet onto his shoulders, to turn it up side down in the water, what has been considered in the design and manufacture of our helmets. - In case of improbable EMERGENCY:
Our helmets are very easy to remove from the shoulders by the diver himself, allowing him to gently float at the surface with his wetsuit.
But, to avoid such extreme action, we provide you with an improved air supply system to prevent any air emergency. - INTAKE AIR CONTROL:
The diver, or the Instructor-guide can operate a needle-valve that controls the amount of air flowing into the helmet, as an air control valve is connected to the air hose coming from the surface.
This (brass) valve distributes the air reducing the noise and demisting continously the faceplate (front view port), it sprays the supply air over the face plate to prevent fogging
The position of the air inlet forms an air safety chamber, in case of a cut or loosened hose. - VIEW PORTS & VISUAL FIELD:
Everyone dives to see... or to be seen!
Our diving helmets avoid underwater view distortion, as the view ports are provided with rectangular wide and flat Viewing Lens, 10mm thick Acrylic plate built.
The experience shows that curve lens wrap around faceplates produces a very unpleasant distorted vision, so we do not make into production such helmet.
To provide a large underwater vision, our 4 light helmets are suited with: 1 faceplate + 2 side view ports + 1 top view port and a possibility of additional wide back view port with a 5 light helmets (360° visual field !).
They light up the diver's face and increase the visual field from both the inside and outside of the helmet (which is much better for the underwater photo-video); additionally they are easy to replace in case of damage. - Helmets FITTINGS:
Brass and stainless steel (finest quality marine) to avoid corrosion and allow an easy assembling/desassembling with quick coupling fittings ; - External LEAD WEIGHTS:
Two external lead weights are needed to submerge and balance the helmet. They are held in place by two stainless steel pierced stips on front and rear.
It is very easy and quick to remove or install these weights, without any tool, as they are fastened in place with a simple rope, it can avoid heavy helmets handling at the surface
Different weights in sizes are available (according to helmets sizes) to fit better to the divers corpulence, facilitate the u/w walk and increase the diver's comfort. - HELMETS SIZES:
As we should provide very different markets (XXS size for Japan to XXL for Australia), now a full range is available with the following sizes:
S (child and teen up to 40kg), M (adult up to 70 kg), L (adult up to 100 kg). XL (adult with a stronger built body). - HELMETS WEIGHT:
The helmet body weights about 20 kgs without the external lead weights. Both lead weights (front and back) weights together from 30 to 50 kg depending of helmets sizes. - MAINTENANCE:
Maintenance free. Our dive helmets are extremely tough and durable. We only recommend to rinse the air inlet fitting valve, if salt water is occasionally going inside the airline.

Air Delivery System (SSBA Unit)
Electrically or Petrol motor driven air compressors*, Single or Three Phases / Heavy Duty Cast Iron Pump:
Two compressors, traditionnal SS, Single-stage heavy duty cast-iron air compressors are recommended.
Twin cylinder block design with conservative running speed (prolonged life) and simple splash lubrication.
The ultra low speed pump (reduce wear and tear on components, offering a longer compressor life)
Free air delivery adaptable to your number of Helmet Divers
Condensate drain tap (or optional automatic condensate drain), motor thermal overload protection switches, pressure adjustable,
automatic stop/start control with auto-off switch, heavy duty belt guard.
These separated compressor units provide continuous air delivery with reserve air supply system*.
*Please, pay attention: Every 4-5 years we have a new crop of people who believe they have re-invented the wheel.
DO NOT USE SCUBA TANKS connected to a compressor or to a control panel for emergency usage with any shallow water dive helmets: they will not supply enough air to the divers and the valves tanks will be freezing (if not set up to a dry suit, helmets use a free-flow design, this means the air is delivered at constant rate regardless of the diver's breathing, then scuba tank works with an air debit « on demand » depending of the divers' breathing). That is a basic consideration for your safety in case of air supply emergency.

Control Panel
From the control panel, the tender (surface operator) monitors the air supplied to a variable number of divers/helmets.
With this surface control panel, each diver is independent from each other for the air supply and can go back to the surface, for any reason at any time, with his helmet, then other divers are going on their dive.
The hookah hoses are connecting to the control panel with the quick coupling fittings (see below) or directly with an appropriate SSBA fittings screwed to helmet and control panel outlet (choice on request, further explanation below).
* We do not advise the use of Aluminium in Marine area, the electrolysis is bound to happen.
For your convenience, maybe will you choose a single air line running from your compressor/control panel to a Stainless Steel floating manifold (up to 8 outlets), which will distribute the air flow to your helmets. The system can be duplicate infinite if your compressors can supply enough air: this Helmet Diving® system allow you to have different groups of helmet divers in the water, at the same time and to call them back at any time, regardless of each other group, but not from each other diver inside a group (excepted if they stay close enough from their departure point). Hoses length is not extensible!*
We provide Optional Stainless Steel manifolds* + SS valves and floating devices + Alpha diving flags.
*The use of floating manifold(s) reduce partially the number of hookah hoses running from the main surface control panel to the helmets, but it doesn't allow a single diver from a group to come back to his departure base, at any time, with the helmet and without the others (his Hookah hose could be too short if the other divers are far away from the departure base).
The floatting manifold fits to the safe use of a lift to descend different groups of divers from the surface to the seabed, under the above restriction. Without any Floating Manifold, a helmet can come back to the departure base at any time, with the lift, regardless of the other helmet-divers position and number. That is important and must be clarified.

Hookah Hose and fittings
Our diving hose is manufactured to AS2299 and AS1716 and is the hose of choice for most professional divers.
Available in standard length of 25 metres and 10 mm internal bore (special lenght hoses are available on request).
Supplied and fitted with reusable hose ends and quick couplings (see below).
Hookah hose can also be fitted (on request) with appropriate SSBA Fittings which will have to be screwed and unscrewed to the helmets and control panel (no quick coupling).
Type : Safety yellow reinforced non toxic breathing air hose conforming to AS2299 & AS1716
Reinforcing : Terylene braid with longitudinal supports along the entire lenght of the hose
Outer : U.V. & kink resistant PVC for long life
Structure : 10 mm internal diameter and 16,6 mm outside diameter. 4,75 kg per 25 m. Working pressure 2500 KPa (360 PSI).

SSBA FITTINGS
Manufactured for strength and attach directly quick couplings (below) to the ends of a Hookah hose.
The parallel fittings (above) are used on the safety coupling bodies. The area marked with an arrow is the location of a raised surface seat ; this allows for a direct metal to metal seat and does not stress the thread in the coupling body.
Material : Naval Brass alloy 486. Working pressure is 360 PSI (25 Bar).

QUICK COUPLINGS FITTINGS
These couplings are well known among professional divers as being a safe and reliable solution for hose connection whether it be diving line to compressor or diving line to regulator assembly.
Having a safety lock mechanism, the body complies with AS2299 for diving use.
Safety Body : Nickel & Chrome plated brass. Stainless steel balls & springs.
Plug in : 316 Stainless steel body.

The female body is internally valved and comprises chrome plated brass body with stainless steel, brass and zinc internal valve parts. Disconnection of male coupling closes the internal valve mechanism preventing free flow of air.
A safety lock ring set by the diver prevents accidental uncoupling of fittings during diving operations.
Expect years of service from this item.
(Screwed to the above SSBA fittings)
The nipple is internally valved and features a stainless steel body with stainless steel, brass and zinc internal valve parts. Being internally valved, air flow is shut off after the nipple is disconnected from the Tema® body which also prevents flooding. Once again expect years of trouble free operation from this item.
Tema coupling dust caps which will help keep grit and moisture out of the fittings when not in use.

Hose Reel / Stand
We advise you to coil your hookah hoses doing an "8" to avoid all entanglement. We can provide you with an optional Stanless Steel hose stands to avoid keeping them on the floor.

Underwater Guide-bar and underwater rail
We provide a guide-bar that each diver is holding on for the dive, or an optional kit of steel u/w handrail to assemble under the water all along your u/w walk.
This equipment (normaly used for commercial diving, with Kirby Morgan® helmets) is a little bit quite expensive and not really useful if you have an assistant-photographer (recommanded) in the water with the helmet diving guide.

Artificial reefs
Not enough marine life in your area ?
We have the solution : we provide you with artificial reefs, which consist in an underwater steel structure (no pollution), light, easy to move and to install, onto which the marine life (coral and fish) is coming and growing up after only 3 months.
The purpose of these artificial reefs, installed at the divers'eyes level, is to provide hard surfaces to which algae and invertebrates, such as barnacles, corals, oysters, etc. attach ; the accumulation of attached marine life in turn provides intricate structure and food assemblages of fish. One could experience that fish are staying very quickly (a week) under raised structures (including floating platform).
Our artificial reefs will resist to the surge, current or wave.
If required, we can install these reefs throughout South and North Pacific (2 divers can instal them, easily, without any lifting device).

Surface & U/W Diving SUPPORT
U/w Ladders, u/w platforms at different levels, helmets stand/lift, floating dive-platform*, u/w rails, u/w mobile guide- bar, u/w lift (manual or electric), etc.
We built on request, to fit to your dive site and requirements.
*We manufacture a Helmet dive-platform with a lift (up to 8 divers + guide) to descend the divers on the sea bed, air pipes and manifold integrated to the structure. This system allows to save a lot of time for descents and ascents, it is very friendly and it is much easier for poeple to relax and equalize. It is also possible to stop the dive in full water (deep dive site).
14 m x 6 m (steel) this dive-platform is very steady even if the sea is rough, it avoids equipment handling and allows a very professional diving service, poeple getting interest with the activity and your customers getting a very confident feeling with helmet diving®.
This dive-platform can be used for scuba diving beginners and snorkeler, it will make their feeling secure and will be very helpful to start the dive in clear water, with many fishes around (marine life likes staying under the platform).
